A Note on Wonder, Difference, and Learning

picture of hand drawn roads that my kids made

My children teach me more about creativity than any classroom, project, or portfolio ever could.

They teach me that learning doesn’t always happen in a straight line.
It loops and leaps and lingers.

They show me that difference isn’t something to be “managed.”
It’s something to be honored; something to marvel at, not mold into something else.

They remind me that real creativity isn’t about perfection.
It’s about noticing wonder in places others overlook.
It’s about building worlds out of special interests, tiny sparks, small impossibilities turned possible through love.

Because of them, I create differently now.
I lead differently.
I live differently.

Today, I’m reminding myself:
Curiosity is sacred.
Difference is a gift.
And love is the first, truest language of learning.
